Glue that holds us together - Laminin

Laminin is defined by the Webster Medical Dictionary as a "glycoprotein that is a component of connective tissue basement membrane and that promotes cell adhesion." In other words, looking at laminin as a kind of glue isn't far from the truth.
Laminin is a protein found in the extracellular matrix, the sheets of protein that form the substrate of all internal organs also called the basement membrane. It has four arms that can bind to four other molecules. The three shorter arms are particularly good at binding to other laminin molecules, which is what makes it so great at forming sheets. The long arm is capable of binding to cells, which helps anchor the actual organs to the membrane.
Laminin is extremely important to making sure that your overall body structures hold together. If laminin isn't produced correctly, your muscles may form improperly, giving you a form of muscular dystrophy. Or you may just fall apart in a way similar to aging, a condition called "progeria".
I was told to look Laminin up by a friend and I tought this was great. There truly is no greater GOD that our GOD who breathed breath into our lungs, sacrificed his son for us and placed his fingerprint on our soul and in our earthly body. I thank GOD for everything and pray that those who don't know him - find him and experience is unconditional love!!

Colossians 1:15-17 (NIV)
15He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. 16For by him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him. 17He is before all things, and in him all things hold together.

UVA goes to the Vet!!!
OK...so this weekend we spent time at my parents painting their house. Uva was there as well giving us moral support until she got into a fight with "Chiquitin" my dad's dog - Saturday night.
She was bit in the left paw. For those of you who know me, this may come as a surprise, I did not cry!!! Amazing!!! She bleed all over my hand as I cleaned her wound. I carried her for a few hours until I decided she was better and put her to walk on her own. That's where the story starts:
She would run and Michael would call her and she was fine,
I would call her and she would limp,
Michael called her and she was fine and
I would call her and she would limp.
This continued all Saturday and Sunday.
A sight to see... everyone was amazed.
She is so spoiled by her mom, me!!!
Anyways, I didn't think much of it on Saturday but at night I barely slept thinking about Uva and her paw and the complications that can arise from a dog bit.
I woke up on Sunday and I cried!!! I begged Michael to take her to the vet and he did. He took her today. They had to put a muzzle on her and gave her 2 shots, antibiotics and a soft cast. He told me she was a brave little soldier and was even given a doggy treat for such great behavior.
Here are the pictures of my cute little girl.
Enjoy!!!
